...but, really, i hate to do dishes....

lately, i find myself making dish cloths and washcloths. they are so easy to mindlessly knit or crochet while watching t.v. or on a long road trip.. so, i've been looking for some different patterns here and there and ran across this one (see below-with link). this gal uses tulle and yarn to knit a scrubby for dishes. i think that is just plain brilliant..as soon as i finish the sweater i'm working on--yes, it is june, i'm in no hurry, it'll be a while before i can wear it..but as soon as i am done with that, i'm going to get started. the colored tulle mixed with the variegated yarn just makes it so pretty. i might even do dishes one day. (truthfully, my husband does the dishes-pretty much all the time.) Berlin's Whimsy: Knitted Dish Scrubbie Pattern Tutorial

and-while i'm on the doing dishes theme... we have some great friends who go camping a lot..and ALWAYS ask us to go with them--and our daughter is included, too. which is even better, they have no kids but gladly allow ours..hard to find friends like that...anyhoo, i made a little "thank-you" dish towel for pam the other day, to let her know how much we appreciate their friendship.... embroidered dish towel
it's just a flour sack dishtowel --and i embroidered a design from sublime stitching's "camp out!" added some cool retro fabric--i forget who's fabric that is..and added vintage and thrifted ricrac and bias tape.....which by the way, i must blog about---with pictures...next time. (eh, the ricrac and bias tape that is)okay, then..til next time. enjoy.

la belle

this one is a quickie---i was checking out Craft: blog, when i ran across a new blog that will soon become a source of inspiration. the blog is La Belle and she had a pretty picture of a scrap quilt that she made--

this is the kind of quilt i want to make--simple...nothing intricate or terribly hard. just simple and pretty. i've been cutting squares out and saving them for when i have enough. tho, i can't tell you how terrifying actually making a quilt seems to me... but, one day... anyhoo, you can view more of her beautiful pictures and creations on her flickr. y'all have a good one--.

drafts

okay--as i am updating this blog, i find that i had a bunch of "draft" posts saved back to january. obviously, i had a few good intentions of blogging, but never got around to it---today i am going to go back to all of the drafts and combine them into one entry...i hope i can remember what i was planning on blogging about.

the first i found was titled :

i just took a look at the link and it is a great blog--knitting, sewing, tutorials, craft resources..i plan to make it a regular view.

next i found smoy.net --- apparently, i ran across this cool cuff you can get to put pictures in and i thought it was pretty cool--well, i still do...i need to get one for my daughter to put her dog/sister in.

this next thing is just the most awesomest thing i've seen in a while. it's from Etsy :: BlueBananaShop and while it is sold out--it's still fun to look at:

okay-- i think i got all my drafts done.. i'm so proud of myself--all updated and stuff...we'll just see how long it takes until the next post--until then...

stoopidgirl

This might just be the cutest little necklace I have ever seen! A cupcake with mint-green frosting and a little pink bow resting on top of it! The pink bow even has a little pink crystal resting in the center of it. The cupcake is surrounded my oodles and oodles of pastel colored cupcake sprinkles! The back of the pendant is full of soft pink glitter and little shimmery hearts.

for what it's worth..i didn't write the above description...stOOpidgerl did. she's one of my new "contacts" over on flickr...one of my newest favorite wastes of time. won't you join me?
and while you are there.. check out a few of my other favorites -
